Obv.: soldier in '50's-era dress 'charging' forward w/ bayonetted rifle. Rev.: solid back w/safety-pin. The 'Fitness Badge' (formally: 'Badge of Physical Fitness') was awarded in two classes, 'silver', for exceptional performance, and 'bronze' for average performance, in framework of physical fitness test performed during basic training (and also for squad-leader courses & officer courses); test incl. running & obstacle course in full kit. Worn on the right pocket-flap of the tunic.
