Israel: Weizmann State School in Jaffo pin, circa. 1949-1952; not maker-marked; size: 20 x 28mm; weight: 2.65g. The pin bears the emblem of the city of Jaffo with the Hebrew legend "State School Named After the President Weizmann | Yaffo"; reverse is safety-pin backed. The school exists to this day and is unique in that it is now a mixed Jewish-Arab school. The pin is dated to the estimated period as it still refers to Jaffo on its own (before it was formally merged with Tel Aviv in 1959), and it does not refer to President Weizmann as Z"L (deceased), as is commonly done for referred-to personalities no longer alive.
