Germany: Hirsch Berend Oppenheimer bronze medal by (Carl Heinrich?) H. Lorenz F., 1868; 45mm, 40.15g: commemorating the Oppenheimer Housing Trust, founded in 1868 to provide subsidized flats for needy members of the German Jewish community. Only observant Orthodox Jews who lead a clean life were considered by the trust, and those in poverty through not fault of their own were given precedence. The trust's tenants were obliged to attend all religious services.
