Wertheimer (1800- 1887) was an Austrian philanthropist and author, credited with establishing the the Kindergarten system in Austria and helping fellow Jews acquire trade skills and vocations; trustee & President of the Jewish Community of Vienna (1835-1867), and received the patent of nobility from the Emporor in recognition of his work; Forrer vol.
