Germany: Graf Zeppelin color illustrated picture postcard entitled "Graf Zeppelins lenkbares luftschiff über Bregenz" (Graf Zeppelin's dirigible airship over Bregenz [Austria]); as such this would be LZ 127; unattributed artist, published by TSN (Theo Stroefer, Nuremberg), circa. 1928-1929. Unused: light edge wear, particularly to corners.

Oktober 1928" (Airship Graf Zeppelin over Nuremberg on 2 Oct. 1928); as such this would be LZ 127; photographed & bromide-printed by Albert Freytag, Nuremberg. Unused: in near-mint condition. The commemorated date may have been LZ127's first flight over the city, prior to its first transatlantic flight starting 11 Oct.; its first commercial flight ever was on 18 Sept. 1928.

German Graf Zeppelin photo postcard with written details about its 1st flight 15-10-1928

Germany: Graf Zeppelin photographic promotional picture postcard of airship in the sky with title "LZ 127 'Graf Zeppelin' in Fahrt." ("in flight"); photographed & published by 'Awuco'/A. Weber & Co., Stuttgart, serial numbered 60447; used but in near-mint condition: copious notes on the back written by Jakob Sohn, Jewish professor of mathematics & physics at Nürnberg, dated 15-10-1928 who also notes "Rosh Hodesh [bet] Cheshvan 5689" & time 23:50, and apparent mathematics/physics calculations ("10000km from Nuremberg"). As per the date this would have been during the LZ 127's maiden 1st transatlantic flight (which began 11 Oct., from Friedrichshafen & ending Lakehurst NJ on the 15th, as per postcard's date). From some legible words on this and another postcard of Sohn's (next lot), it appears he was jotting down information based on radio broadcasts ("Radio Vienna"); Sohn was not on the flight's passenger list.

("in flight"); photographed & published by 'Awuco'/A. Weber & Co., Stuttgart, serial numbered 60448; used but in near-mint condition: copious notes on the back written by Jakob Sohn, Jewish professor of mathematics & physics at Nürnberg (per providence & information from similar pc in previous lot), dated 15-10-1928 and listing times "2330" & "1120... Lakehurst", and apparent mathematics/physics calculations + reference to radio broadcasts ("Radio Vienna"). As per the date & time this would have at the hour of the flight's arrival in Lakehurst, NJ, ending LZ 127's maiden 1st transatlantic flight (which began 11 Oct., from Friedrichshafen). Sohn was not on the flight's passenger list.
