1948 interim mail/Nahariya 7th slogan: 14 May 1948 "Last Date" (of Mandate)/Independence Day commercial cover (return address on front) from beseiged NAHARIYA to Barclays Bank HAIFA, pre-franked 10m per period letter rate using Haifa overprinted interim Technion stamp tied by blue local Minhelet Ha'am post office postmark (opened locally since 6 May; prior to that cancelled by Post Office in Haifa upon arrival) + local 1st issue 20m "Emergency Post" stamp (for emergency post dispatch service fee), tied by 7th slogan canceller with large rubber dater - to confirm payment of service fee. Nahariya was beseiged until 17 May when Akko was conquered and the road to Haifa reopened the next day; between 22 March and 21 May the local emergency postal service operated via sea to Haifa. Slit open at left, vertically folded; rare genuine commerical cover marked such in this period.
