1973 Yom Kippur War - Gadna youth battalions postal handling: 4 OCT 1973 aerogramme postal stationary cover with 3 Oct. dated typewritten message in English, from BROOKLYN to REHOVOT, pre-franked 13c per period airmail rate; posted 2 days before the outbreak of the War & arrived during the War (6 - 24 Oct), during which the pre-draft age 'Youth Battalions' (Gadna) were tasked with assisting with various supporting services on the home front in order to free-up draftable citizens - here, delivering mail & the cover is tied by an illustrated slogan cachet featuring the unit's emblem, "Delivered by the Gadna". Scarce postal history.
