Westbound mail: 17 APR 1924 registered cover from BAGHDAD to JERUSALEM pre-written "by air mail" but requested sent "overland" per manuscript top right corner; franked 9 Anna per period rate (3A letter + 3A registered fee) using multiple franking of 6x 1½ Anna block & tied by 3 strikes of local postmark; handstamp registry-label on front; backstamped 20 AP 24 REG HAIFA transit & same day REG JERUSALEM arrival. Transported by original route Baghdad - Ramadi - Ruthba - Damascus - Beirut, then rail to Haifa & forwarded locally to JERUSALEM. Slit open at left, peripheral tears; "overland mail" to Palestine is scarce.
