Wartime suspended outbound civilian mail: 15 NO 1944 postcard from HAIFA to Soviet-occupied PLOVDIV Bulgaria franked 13m per period postcard rate using Ba107 tied by single strike of local postmark; apparently written by Bulgarian-speaker & addressed by English speaker using return address of "Spinneys" business in Haifa. Checked by outbound TEL AVIV censor KK32 (unusual as not Haifa censor; routing may have been via TEL AVIV). Marked in crayon "via Moscow" (USSR conquered Bulgaria 8 Sept.) but as no postal relations with Bulgaria (until 28 Feb. 1945), postcard stamped "Returned to Sender | No Service"; marked with black "return to" cachet.
