1948 outbound JERUSALEM siege mail: commercial cover to HAIFA franked 10m per letter rate using 1st Jerusalem locals (Ba102) on 2nd day of issue, tied by local interim postmark & 10 MAY 1948 dater. Could have been carried on 1st convoy of 18 June (lacks backstamp as not registered letter); could also have been taken by courier via "Burma road", opened 1 June (note light horizonal fold: most courier covers were folded, mostly vertically), although lack of Haifa postmark on franking means cover was not entered into postal system outside of Jerusalem - direct courier to addressee. Scarce mail regardless, and if convoy cover, scarce particularly as it's not registered mail. Opened roughly at back. Estimated value $175+
