Israeli "no service" marks on mail to Arab states: 4 XII 1963 airmail cover from PARIS to American Colony Hotel JERUSALEM "ISRAEL", meter-franked 0.70F; as hotel located in Jordanian (EAST) JERUSALEM, upon arrival in Israel, address corrected & cover marked "PAS DE SERVICE VIA ISRAEL" using K-Type-IV instructional marking handstamp on earliest known date of use & returned to sender; resent & backstamped 21 DEC 63 AMMAN transit - very fast turnaround time for "political-boycott" mail; very rare: less than 10 covers known marked by T-IV. Torn open at back; one filing hole & a few staple holes in the corners; vertical fold at right; complete.
