1967 Six Day War postal suspensions of mail to Israel: 15-6-1967 airmail cover on business stationary from watch manufacturer GRENCHEN Switzerland to NABLUS "JORDAN", franked 60c & tied by strike of local postmark; as of 7 June locale part of Israel: although the War & territorial changes did not cause international mail suspensions, much worldwide mail addressed to Jordan was held up there; here, the Swiss uniquely marked such addressed mail with "Service Postal Suspendu" instructional marking handstamp & returned it to sender - as here; nice early post-war postmark date - extremely rare instance of official "no service" mail in this war, with only 2 such covers known. Not illustrated in Kibble. Slit open at top.
