Israeli "no service" marks on mail to Arab states: 26 III 1951 surface mailed printed-matter cover from LONDON to JERUSALEM ("PALESTINE"), meter-franked 1d per new 1950 overseas "reduced rate" (for non-commercial printed matter); routed via ISRAEL, backstamped 15-4-1951 JERUSALEM arrival where address found to be in Jordanian EAST JERUSALEM: cover manuscript-updated "Old City via AMMAN" & tied by "PAS DE SERVICE VIA ISRAEL" instructional marking handstamp K-Type-J.I.2 on earliest known date of use + Hebrew "RETURN TO" instructional marking handstamp (Glassman unlisted); cover returned to sender & resent: backstamped 29 MY 51 (EAST) JERUSALEM arrival. Very rare: Type-J.I.2 was a secondary instructional marking device at the JERUSALEM main post office, less than 10 covers known such stamped - here on scarce rate mail. Vertical fold at center + a few minor tears at edges.
