Interesting stampless couriered cover from HAIFA to JERUSALEM where entered into the civilian postal system & unusually not taxed (or even marked as being unfranked); tied by near full strike of JERUSALEM 4 Main Post Office postmark (Nacht-289/5) with large datelines, dated 6-7-1948 (3rd day of use), unusually with Latin date over the Hebrew; torn open at left & vertically folded as typical of period couriered covers. The siege on Jerusalem ended on 23 June but mail continued to be brought in/out by couriers for a few months thereafter; specifically unusual here as couriered into Jerusalem (most covers known couriered out).
