Jordanian post-1967 War "no service" mail to Israel affecting Arabian mail: 14 DEC 67 airmail cover from ADEN ("Federation of South Arabia" now People's Republic of Southern YEMEN as of 30 Nov. 1967) to St. Georges Anglican Cathedral [East] JERUSALEM (no country indicated), franked 40 Fils using pair of Federation stamps & tied by local machine cancel; routed (correctly, prior to the War) via JORDAN where backstamped (unclear) DEC 67 AMMAN transit: with locale now held by Israel, as of Sept. '67 Jordan held back all mail destined to former Jordanian territories newly held by Israel, in AMMAN - and released it back to sender en masse 13 months later (Sept. '68), after applying English-language "Return to Sender | Delivery Prevented by Enemy Occupation of Jordad(sic) Territory" instructional marking K-Type-Va handstamp.
Cover resent (possibly via forwarding service in UK) as bilingual Hebrew/Arabic Israeli postal instructional marking K-Type-M5 label applied, indicating delayed delivery & requesting in future that address be written as "JERUSALEM. Israel"; recipient noted in manuscript that this received Dec. 1968 - a year after original dispatch. This is the only known period example of Arabian-originating mail to Israel, refused service by Jordan. Significant postal history embodying 2 different historical events/upheavals + unusual franking in this period.
