1950 Independence / PO's, rates & routes: 6-6-1950 registered commercial cover from KARKUR to ZIKHRON YAAQOB franked 50pr at the DO-2 postage period domestic rate (15pr letter + 10pr additional 10g weight + 25pr registration) using mix of vertical pair 20pr (Ba29) + 10pr 1949 2nd Coinage (Ba23), tied by 2 full strikes of local postmark on front + 2 on back; backstamped 7-6-1950 HAIFA transit & next day arrival - marked by ZIKHRON "YAAQOB" postmark (Nacht 225/2). Slit open at top; peripheral tears on top left. A well documented cover; very fine. Est value $115+
