British WWI military mail in Palestine: 22 OC 1917 stampless green honour envelope (no printers mark) from FPO 160 (160th Welsh Border Brigade of 53rd Welsh Division, GAZA area) to CROYDON, tied by Proud-D2 double-ring date-stamp. Posted 5 days before unit's involvement in victorious Battle of Buqqar Ridge (27 Oct.) and 9 days before the victorious Battle of Beersheba (31 Oct.). Backflap torn open (complete) + 3-page handwritten letter dated 13 Oct. included.
