1948 Minhelet Ha'am stamps used as provisional postage dues: local TEL AVIV cover mailed unfranked & tied by Mandate single-circle TEL AVIV postmark in field, and taxed double the deficiency, marked by Mandate "to pay" boxed cachet; paid using 2x interim 10m Weizmann Ba12 franks with Tel Aviv overprints + obliterated by large "T" tax handstamp, making these "provisional" postage due franks: cover may date from 2-14 May, and possibly as late as 21 May, the last day by which interim stamps could be used as postage dues (thereafter Doar Ivri stamps, until 28 May when the 1st Postage Dues entered local use); opened gently at back, very fine.
