1948 small locale Ramot HaShavim couriered & taxed cover: May-June 1948 period cover from sender care of resident in RAMOT HASHAVIM to HAIFA, franked 10m per period domestic letter rate using interim frank (with Tel Aviv overprint); the cover is not postmarked and has a vertical fold normally observed on couriered mail (Ramot HaShavim had no post office until October 1949, which may also explain the out-of-date franking): the cover was subsequently taxed 20m (twice the deficiency) in HAIFA (by manuscript notation & Mandate era boxed cachet handstamp) - probably entered into a local post box there after the 23 May demonetization of the interim franks, tied by a 1st postage dues 20m frank (Ba #PD4) & tied by the head post office postmark on 2-6-1948, the 2nd day of use of the series in HAIFA; opened gently at back. Scarce route & early 1st postage dues franking on 3-period postal cover, very fine.
